Noise Shield
How pH electrode less sensitive to noise.?
I did a pH meter operational amplifiers and a avr to read and display the results. The BNC is a type probe and the reference voltage generated by a voltage divider 1kohm/1kohm is connected to the BNC-shielding. The results shown are correct, as I do not touch cable, but if I have my hand in the pH sensor cable is off by 1!
The problem is that the electrode pH is a very high impedance. Google "electrometer" for explanation of the electronics required for these sources of signal sensitivity. It may still have problems with this measure. Cable may be low noise for the application, but I think that the best approach is to get a preamp as close to the source as possible.
